The Christie Brothers story begins nearly 150 years ago in Kastoria, Greece, where Christos Papachristou, a Greek Orthodox priest with a growing family, sought out the fur trade to supplement his income, moonlighting as a furrier in the fashion capitals of Europe. Over the decades, his sideline became a thriving family-owned enterprise, and in 1943, Christos’ great grandchildren established the luxury fashion brand Christie Brothers in New York City.

From the start, the hallmarks of Christie Brothers have remained constant: integrity in design, dedication to the utmost quality and unsurpassed service to our loyal customers. These attributes have earned us a leadership role in superb luxury furs as well as numerous accolades from our peers and the fashion press.

In 2002, Christie Brothers became a part of the NewMont Group, another family-owned fur business originally based in Montreal, respected as a manufacturer and supplier of furs to many of the most prestigious retailers in the world, as well as for creating design fur collections
